Rt Hon Nick Clegg MP - Sheffield Hallam
"Thank you for forwarding us an SAAS newsletter, which we received with great interest. I would like to assure you that Nick and the Liberal Democrats fully agree that greater support must be provided for those with Autism and Asperger's syndrome, as well as for their families and carers.

It is always wonderful to receive information and suggestions from organisations working directly with people on the ground. As such, we have forwarded your letter to our Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb MP, for his information and interest."

Thank you for your recent correspondence asking for my support for the Autism Bill. I was similarly delighted to see that Cheryl Gillan MP~who was drawn first in the Private Members' Bill ballot, chose to take the Autism Bill forward, a choice that I am sure would have been made by a great many Members had they been successful in the ballot. The level of cross-party support is extremely welcome, and gives me great hope that the Bill will be successful.
I am currently in discussions with my Parliamentary colleagues over the possibility of holding a debate on these issues as soon as possible.
